Sunshades for prams?

Have found the parasol useless but I don't like the look of those black things that cover the whole pram. It's fine while they're sleeping but what about when they're awake and want to see but you don't want them to get burned?

Hi there - the thing with the shade a babe type cover is that it only looks dark to us looking in. If you think about it, it is a bit like being in a church and looking at the stained glass window - from the outside the window looks very dull, but once you are inside you see the beautiful colours as the light is shining through.

We used one for DD and it was so much easier not having to worry about whether she was covered or not. She never complained about it and we used it till she was around 3.

Thank you. Might invest in one then. No doubt this weather will disappear and render it worthless lol x

I've got one like this that I fold back behind the pushchair hood when not using it:

I've used this for a few years and it's been perfectly fine, shades the whole seat without covering it up, easy to take on and off and folds small. Parasols used to drive me nuts!

I never used one and neither mine was ever burned. Are they really necessary? I thought the parasols are just an accessory. Like cot bumpers.

Well I walked my dd home in bright sunshine yesterday at 9.30 in the morning, she wouldn't have burned but she was pretty uncomfortable with the sun in her eyes and hot until I put the sunshade on. It doesn't take that much imagination to see the use, surely? Confused

I've got a snooze shade and would highly recommend it. It gets used all year round as dd will only nap in the buggy and it makes it lovely and dark for her. For just shading her when awake I use the hood of our oyster max as it's pretty big or I walk sideways next to the buggy to give it my shade!
