My dd has started recently complaining when we turn on the lights that they are bothering her eyes. She asks us to turn them off and says they are bothering her eyes. It is only first thing in the morning. I know my eyes first thing in morning when lights are turned on can be a little sensitive as the adjust...do you think this is the same thing? Or do you think there might be cause for concern? She only complains first thing in the morning it seems and then the rest of the day if there is light she doesnt say anything. Should I take her to see her GP? Or wait and see?

Obviously you should always see a doc if you're worried... But, my DS (also 2yo) says the same in the morning ("eyes sore"). I think he doesn't quite have the vocab to explain that the lights feel particularly bright first thing.

I would speak to your GP or take her into the optician just to be safe. whilst it probably is just sensitivity to light after being asleep sight really isn't something you want to take a risk with!
