Does your 6 - 7 year old Dd speaks with a silly voice sometimes?

My dd will be 7 next month and I have noticed she puts on silly voice sometimes when speaking to other adults or even me.
She did to her teacher at parent's conference.
Why?
She isn't generally shy.

All the time, high pitched squeaking, them low pitched mumbling. it's like having popeye the sailorman running aorund.

aaargh my ds does this drives me up the bloody wall! he picked it up off a friend of his.

Everytime he uses it I say pardon until he talks with a normal voice, seems to be working.

DD's 5 and does this. It's really annoying.

Dd does the low pitch slow mumbling and it sounds so silly.
I know I shouldn't think like that but I wonder what people who don't know her well or has zero experience with kids think.
Do boys do it too?

DS 5 does this and it's fucking irritating! He also goes into baby language which I refuse to respond to

Yep Dd 6 1/2 talks in a stupid baby voice so 'Please can I have a drink?' Is 'me want drink.' We now just ignore her until she says it properly.

DS still does this & he is nearly 10.

My stepson does this at nearly 11! I think it's a coping tactic when he feels intimidated by a situation like

Yes, my 7 year old dd does it sometimes, and the mispronouncing words/baby talk thing too. I think it's normal, but it can be very frustrating.

Yep. DD is almost 6 and puts on a baby voice at times. Instead of, "Mummy please read me a book", she'll say "Mama you read me book".

I instantly feel crazy. It is infuriating, but the trick is not to give it any attention. I'll ask once for her to talk in a normal voice, and explain that I will not respond to her when she talks like that. If she continues, it's ignore, ignore, ignore. She's quick to cotton on!

yeh mine do that sometimes they know it drives me crazy eg 'thowwy mummy' grrrrr.....

Yep. My 7 year old DSD does the weird American accent (I blame the Disney Channel )
She also does baby talk which is hugely infuriating. I don't respond to that.
In my (very limited) experience I think all kids do weird voices don't they?

Oh yeah, they all do it! The joys of trying to teach year 2's!

My four year old DD does it all the time. I can't remember what her proper voice sounds like!
