DD (16 months) was sleeping through and being really normal and sensible but has suddenly started waking up every hour or so (from midnight onward) really crying, unable to go back to sleep for more than a cycle or so. She also, despite being overtired, is refusing naps too, despite giving off all the signs that she wants/needs one.
She is teething a little and also has a slight cold but has been given Nurofen and Calpol (which we know work for her) and also I know she's not suffering that badly with them.
What makes it extra frustrating is that she is currently being weaned off breastfeeding and was down to just 3 feeds a day. Now she's been screaming for her special milk every time she wakes up, and won't settle for water/milk bottle. A few times I've caved in and breastfed her and so I feel furious and rotten and like this is so many steps backwards.
This was all preceded by her starting to have very early wakings a week or so ago, at 5am. There's obviously something wrong - what could it be? She is always very upset to be put back in her cot.
At a loss. How do I get her to catch up on sleep if she won't go down?
She goes down ok at 7ish for sleep.
