My beautiful son is 16 days old, he weighed 6lbs 14oz at birth never lost any weight and by day 10 had put on 13ozs, I started to breast feed but it never seemed to satisfy him so changed to the bottle, he is doing a whooping 4ozs every 2.5 - 3 hours day and night, and most of the time seems hungary at the end of the feed but will not take 5ozs - think his little tummy just cant take it, he is a real guzzler and feeding takes around 10 minutes. He seems to be constantly seeking more even after 30 minutes of the last one sometimes I top him up with a couple of ozs inbetwen feeds during the day, someone has suggested moving him onto a hungary baby milk but unsure as he is so young! any ideas on how to satisfy my greedy little monster

My DD is 1 month old, we have had the same issue. I bf for 4 days but it never satisfied her and she wouldn't settle. Changed to ff and she was q different baby! She was on 4oz when she was 2 weeks old and was up to 6oz by the end of last week. She would barely last 3hrs between each feed but to be fair wasn't so bad at night, but when she woke up she would scream the house down!! We changed to the hungry babies milk on Tuesday and it was the best thing we have done! Lasts 4hrs between feeds, had last feed at 8 last night, didn't get up again til 1am them up at 6! I would highly recommend trying it. I make 6oz bottles up for her and most of the time she will take it all, other times it will be about just over 5oz. If she doesn't settle after feeding then lots of cuddles do the trick!

Sounds normal to me but try posting in feeding section for more replies. Personally I'd just change to feeding every 2 hours in the daytime.

Sounds just like my little one at that point! We just fed as we would on the breast - on demand, little and often. After a few weeks he took more at each feed and went longer between. claire is right, if he is hungry he is hungry! So feed.

Ds is 10 weeks now and whilst still a good feeder and hungry in the day, sleeps really well at night.

We wanted to switch to hungry baby, but HV advised against it. We didn't and its all sorted itself out now.

I would speak to HV before switching.
