What time can we open the wine?

Well 6pm comes and I get out the corkscrew.
Does anyone have a start time of opening the wine after a hard day? Is 6pm too early? Should I be starting at 5.30pm?
It's hard work being a mum!

Hate to admit to this - but I often have a glass at lunch time!

I don't think 6.00 pm is too early at all. Better than 10.00 am in the morning!!! Don't worry about it, a glass of wine (or two) at the end of the day is fine, I have felt that way on numerous occasions with my son. As long as you're not getting rolling drunk every night, it's a nice way to unwind.

I also find that once it comes time to start thinking about the evening meal (normally about 6 pm), while I am cooking I start on the old alcohol (although I don't drink wine - it gives me a headache - I drink vodka and coke!). I don't have one every night as I work part-time (due back at work next week after maternity leave) so am not around at 6 pm two days a week, but I must admit when I am around I do partake in the odd alcoholic beverage.

When I am at home, I drink coffee all day (I think I am addicted as I normally have about 6/7 cups - not good for me I know - but if I don't have this quota I find I have headaches). Because I drink coffee all day, once the evening comes and it is time to start to try and un-wind, I find I don't just fancy a coffee or a soft drink, I like the relaxation that the vodka gives me (although, saying that, I normally only have one (large one), but sometimes I do take two).

For some reason I wait for when my partner gets home from work as I think I'll scare him if I'm already tucking in by the time he gets home! He usually gets in somewhere between 6 and 7 pm and if it's nearer 7pm then I usually have the bottle and bottle opener out and waiting for his return! We pretty much share a bottle a night although we did cut down temporarily after Christmas but we have no willpower and I luuuurve wine!

Lobe - I'm impressed that you leave it as long as 6. When I've done my last drive of the day (usually school pick-up) I always have a little snifter when I get home. At the moment though, not drinking as you're not meant to on the Atkins induction plan and I'm really desperate to get the weight off this time, so am prepared (albeit with a heavy heart) to make sacrifices. Am stocking up the G&T (slimline, of course) for next week though!
