Tonight is the night! DS is 23MO, any tips or help to make it go smoothly?

DD took to it perfectly but she was a little older and less wilful Grin

Interested too. Have an almost two year old but he's perfect happy in his cot for the moment.
How do you decide your ds is ready for a bed? What are the signs?
Or do you need cot for a sibling?

The cot we got for DS hasn't lasted too well and he's also really strong and trying to climb out Hmm

If I had a sturdier cot I'd probably leave it a while longer tbh.

I'd say if he's climbing out, that's all the signs you needGrin.

Both of ours went in no problem. We put quilts in there beds ( had previously used grobags) and let them choose which duvet cover the had the first nightt and which toys would join them in their big boys/girls bed.

Hope it goes just as smoothly for you.

We let DD1 choose duvet covers too and made a big deal about how grown up she was. She loves jumping her bed now. Smile

We haven't yet got a big boy bed for DS (27 months) but we have just taken the side off his cot a few nights ago. He has been absolutely fine - slept like a dream every night, and it doesn't seem to have occurred to him he can get out when we're not there. Yet. I'm sure it won't be long! So don't worry too much - you may find it will be fine.
