How often do you bath/shower your DCs ?

Just wondering and thinking that I need to start bathing mine more. I currently bath them on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays generally. Mainly because those are the nights which allow most time for various reasons.

However I do think I might start bathing them every night.

They are 3 and 4 for your info. Boys with short hair (which I also wash at each bathtime). Both are now toilet trained and so baby wipes etc are no longer used on their bottoms etc.

Just wondering what others do ?

Don't only bath them when they are dirty. Waste of time, waste of water, waste of gas, electricity etc. But mainly a waste of funSmile.
I have really happy memories of messing about with my sister in the bath, running cafes with bubble and face cloth food and making spiky hairdos with soapy hair. We went in the bath 2x a week with the time and the hot water to enjoy it. DH was made to have a quick shallow bath everynight.
You can guess who loves to soak in the bath now and who has to be nagged to shower.

Twice a week - unless they are covered in sun cream which would then be every day.

I find my DD & DS enjoy the bath this way - any more and its just boring for them.

Every night or if not the next morning. I do think he needs it though lol

daily
mainly because they like it, and it kills a good half hour at a tricky time of day.
oddly, dd2's eczema responds well to daily bathing, and dd1 won't be left out.

We do the same as you. Mon, Weds & Friday. The water is so hard it flares up their excema if they have them more often.

I'm trying to persuade DS to start having showers when he starts school in Sept.

DS (11 months) currently has a bath every day, although we've recently stopped washing his hair if we're running a bit late, or if he seems to be quite tired. He really enjoys it.

We might reduce the frequency of baths when I go back to work in a couple of weeks, depending on how things go.

Once or more often twice a week (2.11). More often recently as we're potty training and if he smells of wee he needs a bath!
It's enjoyable but time-consuming. He hates having his hair washed but I do it once a week anyway.

Every day. We all shower or bath daily. Both my kids love their bathtime.

When I just had DD I used to religously bath her every evening - both because I was convinced if I didn't then I would break the "bath, milk, story" routine and she wouldn't sleep Hmm and also like someone else said, it killed 20 mins during the 5-7pm slot.....

Now I have a baby DS I have stopped the daily bath routine - too knackering and quite frankly I can't be arsed anymore! They get bathed together every other day unless they are grubby, covered in suntan lotion, starting to smell etc!

Bathtime for me is a bit like reading beadtime stories - I thought I would LOVE it before I had children and now I find it makes me want to scream with boredom and general "oh dear god is it only 5.30pm?"

Once or twice a week. DD more than DS because she gets sandy, painty, suncreamy, muddy etc, and he's only 8 mo.

Every other day or so and I don't wash their hair every time. They are 6 and 3, obviously if they've been rolling in muck I'll bath them. I have a five month old and I dip her in with them.

DD is 2.10 and is bathed daily as she loves playing 'cleaning' Confused in the bath. Some days she asks if she can have a 'Mummy shower' with me instead.

She is a proper water baby though and would spend her whole life immersed in water if she could (and she stores yogurt/paint/sandwiches/mash/bananas/mud/sand in her hair so it needs to be washed out most days Grin)

DD3 is 2½ and has a shower every day, but she's also covered in suncream/sand/chlorine every day, so necessary. But, she will happily sit in the bath/shower for hours in the winter as well which is handy...so I can clear the destruction that is left in her wake each day and MN in peace

The others are not so stinky teens who appear to be showering at least twice a day at the moment, but they are also covered in suncream etc and it is exceptionally hot and sticky weather here.

Once a month, if he needs it or not.

i used to bath DS (2yo) every night he rarely needs it but its a very enjoyable activity and i believe helps him get a good nights sleep, and he loves splashing around with his toys.

since i've become pg again its more like every 2nd night as i'm too tired/struggle to lift him out etc, but once DD is born i intend to go back to daily again.

my dts (6) have morning showers - it wakes them up and they go to school fresh and clean. One is still in nighttime nappies so he needs it really. Morning showers are easier for me and once they are properly awake they seem to get ready quicker. Otherwise they are hard to get out of bed!

At 3-4 years tho, it def wasn't regularly though - as and when they needed it!

4 or 5 times a week. They have showers now, as they are older. But I've always given them a proper wash this frequently - they enjoy it!

I bath DS (3) every day unless he is very late going to bed which is unusual. He does come home from nursery covered in paint/sand/glitter/muck and definitely looks as though he needs it.

It's now become part of bedtime - sometimes it's a quick wash, other nights we have time to play and have bubbles etc. - but I do like the idea that he goes to bed at night clean.

6 yr and 3yr old - bath or shower everynight. They are grubby kids. Hair washed only once or twice a week as they hate that. But bathtime is fun.

5 and 2, pretty much every day as they like to play in the bath. It also works to keep the 2yo awake if she's trying to nap at 5pm! Hair washed about once a week or it goes all fluffy and mad.

About 2-3 times a week, no bath here so we only shower, he just comes in with me of a morning. DS is almost 3. If he's smelly or suncreamy then a bit more often. He's quite fastidious though and doesn't like to get covered from head to toe in mud and gunk. I wash his hair about 1-2 times a week.
