window safety??

Sorry- wasn't sure where to post this.

I'm going abroad on holiday to stay with family and they have windows which are very low off the floor. DS has just started to crawl and pull himself up on things, so this is a concern. While I won't take my eyes off him for a second (these windows are only in the bedroom where he won't be left alone, only to sleep in his cot), I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that you can buy to put over windows to make them secure while the window is open (it will be hot I'm sure, so windows will be open).

Many thanks.

can the windows open at the top rather than the bottom? can't think of anything but there is a website called safetots that does a huge range of child safety stuff. Easiest thing will just be to keep the door to the room shut I guess
