yesterday, the man in the room next door to peter, well his wife ran out of baby milk and couldnt get her usual milk in the village. so got something else which made the baby sick. today when i went shopping i spotted the milk they use and picked up 2 small cartons for them in case they get caight out again.they could keep it in the hospital room. its their 1st baby and its hard enough to be organised all the time especially with other half in hospital. would you be offended or anything if an almost stranger gave u baby milk?

wassy, thats what i thought after i had paid for it. would they think i was a bit odd. ah well who cares, they can have some steribottles as well as dd3 didnt like them.

I think it's a lovely thing to do and so what if they think it's weird? Personally, I'd think it was very thoughtful and would be grateful that you're still kind enough to think of other people when your husband is in hospital too.

Misdee - I know how people sort of 'bond' when in hospital - I ended up doing laundry for a poor woman who had arrived in London in an ambulance with her little dd from the Isle of Wight, and had no spare clothes, and no friends or family nearby to bring her food, or sit with her dd while she even went to the canteen. I often thought that if I were v rich and a lady of leisure, I would set up a volunteer 'buddying' scheme for people spending lots of time with relatives / children in hospital far from home.

And there you are, doing it out of the goodness of your heart. Not weird at all, just practical and caring.

bibitwo, its getting like the people on the ward and like an extended family. i got all panic-y the other week when they moved peters other neighbour, as he had been in that room for months. i thought the lad had passed away, turned out they moved him down the hall

No one could think badly of you for doing something kind.
My df was in hospital lately and his "bed neighbours" and thie relatives were like a family to him when we weren't there, and we tried to do the same in return. Good on you I say.
