MN elite group is very hard to get in to but I've only been here nearly a year so I think I'm expecting too much

What makes your elite gang so great, exactly?

hate to spoil it for you but... don't be surprised if they drop you just as quick! Know that may not sound nice but it can be sooooo true. Speaking from experience the "best gang" can be the worst gang to belong to, honest people don't exclude people and you don't have to wait to be invited to join them. Ignore me and have a good time.

There's nothing really elite about them apart from them just being really nice, friendly people.

They all just know each other through their kids who all go to the same school.

I was suprised really because their kids are older than dd and I think it was only because 1 of the mums gave me a lift when we had a group trip, that we got to know one another.

I really hope that I can form some sort of friendships. It's been a long time that I can say I have a friend. As sad as that sounds!

Thankfully I am escaping from our 'elite gang' - I can't stand the gossiping and looks, I don't go to toddlers anymore, and we are leaving the country so I can escape the playground too!!!

Don't worry I'm not emmigrating because of them, but I am glad to get away!!

It doesn't sound sad at all. It's hard to maintain friendships with children. Since have my dd, I have lost contact with a few. Although, I do work hard to keep friendships going with those that I really do get on with.

Good luck with your new friends. You sound like a really lovely person so I'm sure they'll think you are great.

And if this is what it's like at M&T then I dread to think what it's like at the playground!

Nbg i know how you feel, the same happened to me....except took me longer. It took me 12 months to pluck up courage and swap phone numbers with one of the 'cool crowd' !!! Thank god though, they're really nice girls and it's lovely to feel part of a new city.

Go girl - enjoy it and revel in it - you're in with the in crowd now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
