What can I buy as a birthday present for my 70 odd yr old Gran?

It's my gran's birthday in a few weeks and i'd like to get her a slightly unusual but useful present. She's quite active (but is showing signs of age ) and looks after my young cousins one day a week (aged 7,5 and 3), and i'd like to get her something kinda different. She's told everyone she doesn't want a present but I still wanna get her something.

Does anyone have anyideas of slightly unusual presents that an old person would like?

TIA
Carla

It's hard to shop for old people, they already have whatever they want.

The one big hit I've had with old people is photos (or drawings, if you're very organised) of their grand kids or great grand kids, in a very nice frame. It's something they always want!

Otherwise ... a hot air balloon trip?

How about a voucher for a therapy (reiki, massage, reflexology) at a local health centre. I got a medium to visit my grandma because she was into that sort of thing. I was passed on the number of a good one as I imagine there'll be a few dodgy ones around too.

What about a trip to the theatre or a day trip voucher from a coach company?

Great ideas everyone - Thanks!

We're having a family BBQ to celebrate so might try and organise everyone into a huge group photo that could be framed afterways and the theatre sounds like a good idea. Will look into it

Thanks again,
Carla

One thing that I done for my Grans 80th (which went down very well), was a photo album, I went back over the years and put photos of all her family at different ages in the photo album, its photos she had seen before but was a great talking piece for her, she had a tea party with her friends and a family event and I think she thoroughly enjoyed looked back over all the years in the past and the photo album helped a lot.

I bought my granny a beautiful wooden windchime to hang in her garden. She loves spending time outside and enjoys it whenever she's there.
