depends on your borough. ours has one app for all registered social landlords.

your council or borough. for example, city of edinburgh council, in our case.

Where's the new job ? (Understand if you don't want to say)
Do you know for def that your HA doesn't operate there?

I'm pretty sure there's a Homes Swap service that most HAs are linked into to. I work for an HA (but not in Lettings) and there's a notice board in our reception area where people say what they're looking for and where they are now & ask for a swap.
Not sure how a transfer would work but nothing to stop you making a direct application to an HA in the new area though.

The new job is in Surrey - Mitcham
we currently live in Hampshire

Were with Martlet Homes - im not sure if they operate there but i dont think so.

We cant do a swap as we ahvent been in our house a year which is a stipulation for swapping - idont know if they would take dp's job relocation in consideration

yes they would take the job relocation in serious consideration. phone your Housing Officer and make an appointment to see them and ask about transfers.

sometimes HA's work together to move a family who is having problems so make an appt tomorrow

It shouldn't matter how long you'd lived there, a job relocation is different from just another house swap.

The website is here and you need to register before you can access the details as you get the persons address etc.

Hi there. Agree with Custardo about job relocation being taken seriously.
Good luck with the private rent but don't forget you could always contact HAs in the area and apply direct to most of them if that's what you need to do.

Post back & let us know how you go on.
Good luck

oh hooray! maybe you can move after all!!!

also think about your moving situation - your better placed now to get a "reasonable" priced rented HA house in another area - because of the circumstances being sesperate ...whereas if you move - you will already be suitably housed ... see what i mean?
