hi, is it for your ds1? he has to avoid certain things doesn't he? i can't remember what exactly but this may help
if you look at the right hand side you can tell which snack are free from which things.

hope i'm not barking up the wrong tree and you need to know for some entirely different reason!

Thanks BK. I need to know because he's headbanging like mad- his forehead is covered in bruises. And his knees (he uses his knees if there's no wall handy) I thought they were giving him pringles at shcool (which contain MSG which sets him off) but they're not. They have been giving him Skips though- I suspect they've been setting him off, but I can't see anything I know is a problem in them. He's never had them before though.

WOW What a helpful [person on the helpline (thanks BK) - they have a teeny tiny bit of wheat in them!!! They're not listed as wheat free by their foood technologists. That'll be it then!

I do Fio but he wants other stuff and the school are very into increasing his diet (which they have done enormously). It's just getting the balance I guess.

Oh well good blind diet trial I guess.

Jimjams, may be a long shot but DD is affected by citric acid in some things- think it's if it's in highish quantities?

he's raving jakb- absolutely awful tonight- I've lost count of the number of times he's hit himself. He's also absolutelly freaking over books (turning pages?? pictures??) It's got to be the wheat in them.

I think he's fine with citrus as he has orange, and I've done a couple of citrus free trials- no difference, although I know a lot of autis are affected.

Bit late to this, but lots of children, including my DS1, react to annatto - it's listed as a natural colouring, but is one that causes lots of reactions. Annoyingly, it's in lots of things like Cheerios and yoghurts.
