...out of 42 students, seven were left-handed. I think the average is 9-11%, which should mean 4 in a group this size - I thought lefties were supposed to be artistic!

(There were also 7 girls but the rest were right-handed boys so the majority fitted the stereotype )

Nooooooooo - we left handers aren't artistic - we're logical and mathematical - it's the right side of the brain that does arty farty, and right handed people who turn out that way.

V disappointing this afternoon, they gave us exactly the right number of papers for Biology (a first) so we were prevented from finding out precisely how ignorant we are. (The maths mechanics was just gibberish, frankly. What is a lamina?)

my brothers are both left handed and both quite science-y (though one should really have gone into arts - he thinks it's for wimps).

I'm right handed and missed my A level mechanics exam because i thought it was in the afternoon.

Does that help clear things up?

he he, a lamina is something you are allowed to forget about at our advanced age, unless you have the misfortune to be a teacher or write civil engineering programs!

Well just asked my DH, and his theory is that the right side of my brain is fully occupied controlling stuff like actually moving my arms, thus leaving the left side to do 'brainy' type things!

Make any sense to anyone?

No, thought not .

Does that mean that men in the pub need to use half of their entire brain power to lift a pint?

All of it, nn
