Pony riding lessons...

DD wants to have some riding lessons - how much should I expect to pay, and how long should the lesson be at age 5? What is the maximum number of beginners that should be in a lesson?
And any other tips on the subject appreciated! Thanks!

it varys very much according to area, lessons are normally one hour expect to pay anything from £25 upwards, some riding schools have a lower age limit so you check with each one. Group lessons can have from five people upwards, again depends on the riding school. Where do you live ?

Half an hour would be ample at first for a 5yo. My dd is 7, she currently has a private half hour at £17.50, and hopefully very soon will move to a group hour at £14.50.
Make sure wherever you go is BHS approved, it should state this in the yellow pages or wherever.

I have just been quoted £17 for a lesson with 6-8, and £12 for a lesson of 4. Both half an hour - seems pretty pricy!
