So what does a cool/hip 18 month old wear to a fancy dress obstical race then??? and where do I buy it from (most fancy dress I have seen in town is from 3 yrs) and no before you ask - NO WAY will I be making it....

A fairy dress! Woolies, Next, Toy shop. A nice pretty short dress, won't get in her way, she will look angelic and she can have a wand!

the good thing about this age is that they have no idea what fancy dress is so you can out them in anything. y DSs went to a Kings and Queens party a few months ago. My Mum made a couple of cloaks for them our of v cheap material I bought and they made the crowns at the party. The week after they went to a fancy dress party and both went as..... kings! Exactly the same outfits - they didn't give a monkeys as long as there was cake

How about going conceptual like all green clothes: a pea, or all orange: a carrot?..Well it should be easy! My ds2 was a pumpkin at Halloween when he was about 6 months: orange tshirt and geen tights. Extremely cute!
