Oh the stress..... call your estate agent - reiterate your seriousness in buying this house, chase up your mortgage offer if you haven't already got it, tell the company you need it asap to prove that you can move quickly etc etc.
Call the solicitors, find out where you are with searches etc. Hassle them all endlessly - don't be shy, keep on at them.

Good luck.

Evesmama, am going through a 'move' too, have responded on one of your other threads. It's a horrible time isn't it? If only the system could be changed so we could exchange quickly - it's the not knowing that does your head in!

Why hasn't your 'new' house been taken off the market?

How far down the line are you with this? Most estate agents will take the house off the money once the vendor has accepted an offer. They usually give you a couple of weeks to get a survey done so that they buyer knows you are serious. If you don't get it done in that time then they can put it back on the market

they wont 'accept' our offer cos we havent got a buyer yet and the house has been part ex'd by developer, so they will only take it as a note of interest..other bloke in same position, but the rest is out of my hands, cant 'make' someone buy mine..have done it all neutral and unooffensive, so am just so sad that we might lose it now, especially after going back to see it at wekend and confirming it was 'the one'[sad

Oh I see. I didn't dare go househunting until we had a buyer as I didn't want to end up falling love with a house we couldn't have. Fingers crossed you find a buyer soon. It's horrible waiting for somebody to buy your house. Are you happy with your estate agent? We changed ours and within a couple of weeks we had a two offers. It might be worth looking into changing.
