Ds is 7 and a half and originally was going to take him to the london dungeons. I really don't think that's wise as he'll have nightmares forever.
Does anyone have any other suggestions please for places to take him. I can't think of anywhere.
Big thank you

Natural History Museum? Science Museum? They have lots going on for kids. The Tate Modern is good fun, really lovely architecture. Oh, the London Transport Museum is meant to be good, too - in Covent Garden.

My eldest is only 3.5, but these are the ones that come to mind first.

Definitely not the London Dungeons - far too scary for such a young child IMO. Does he like ships? What about HMS Belfast? Or the Aquarium next to the London eye is excellent.

We have done the aquarium, good but only a few hours worth of fish. My kids like riding on the DLR. I think one of the city farms is near Mudchute station.

Friends of mine went on the Duck Tour yesterday and said it was "FANTASTIC". Might have to book though not sure. In case you don't know it's an amphibious vehicle that takes you on a tour of the sights then plunges into the Thames somewhere along the way and you get a riverboat tour as well. Friend said the guide was very funny and added lots of laughter to the tour.

Has he been on The London Eye - you could go on that and then The London Aquarium is a few yards away, plus - has he been up close to Big Ben - that's just round thr corner.

Otherwise, Science Museum is good - stuff specifically for children (fun, interactive) is in the basement (plus on bit on ground) of the Wellcome Wing.

If you go, get a free map of the place and look for the sections that have a little hand next to them - they are for kids. The best bit for his age I think is The Launch Pad.

Natural History Museum is next to the science museum - if you went to both on the same day, I'd just hit the dinosaur section in the Nat History - not missing the T Rex!

HTH

The Museums would be the cheaper day out btw, so I've suggested 2 options depending on your budget.
