Parking Ticket Query

Is there any such thing as the 5 mins grace period? Dropped a load of stuff off at the charity shop yesterday, was there less than 5 mins and some zealous parking attendant managed to nobble me for £40!
Was definitely stopped on a single yellow, saying no parking 7am-7pm Mon-Sat. However, was hoping that at 9am on Sat morning parking attendants would still be at home in bed!!! The ticket even indicates that he only saw the car parked there for 3 mins.
Please, please tell me that you get 5 mins grace!!!! No fibs though, just to make me feel better.
