birthday tea party - do i need to feed the mums too?

it's not anything big. we've got 4 3 year olds, a 2 year old and a 6 year old coming.

our group usually do coffee and a cake for the mums if its at home...they are on their own at softplay places!

Nah, they usually all just want to eat the cake and crisps you've laid on for the kids anyway.

I am only happy if there is wine and maybe some canapes but not tea and cake!

Only if you have invited the parents too.

If they choose to stay but you haven't invited them show them where the kettle is and let them nibble on the leftovers.

If you have asked them along too then make sure there is enough for them to nibble on too.

I have never been to a party where wine has been offered, despite always reading about it on MN! I wouldn't drink anyway as I'd have to get a hyper DS home afterwards.

I have also rarely seen parents eat at parties.

At DS's last party, I sat all the oaretns in a seperate room to the children with plenty of hom made biscuits and tea and coffee.

Well it wasn't an inviation thing. I just said oh bring DC round later so they can play with DS on his birthday
