Nailpolish on carpet help

While I was tidying up upstairs, my DS sneakily took some nailpolisah that I though was out of his reach and painted himself, the sink and the stairgate. He also slopped some on the carpet for good measure. Can anyone tell me how to get it out or am I going to have to call my insurers and get the carpet replaced.

Hopefully I can get this out before DH comes home on saturday.

Would nail polish remover take the colour out of the carpet? It might be a bit stinky and give the game away too!

There must be a nail polish Stain Devil out there?

Sorry, not much help - they are little devils aren't they

Think Cadbury had to have hers replaced due to dd doing a similar job with nailpolish!

It is, but they don't half put your excess or premiums up the following year!!

Move your furniture? I did this a few years ago, could never get it out. Nail polish remover just diluted it and spread it about.

Yup, my dd did the same. What colour is the carpet? You could try getting it out by blotting up as much as you can and then dabbing the stain with acetone (st5rong nail varnish remover). We trieds that and it got some out but not enough and we called the insurors. We actually got a large area of carpet replaced and I don't think our premium has gone up since. We had accidental damage insurrance thankfully. Hope you find a way to sort it.
