I have just come to the end of my sixth week coping with my children on my own (dh is in Saudi). I have come to the realisation that single Mums deserve a medal. Ladies, I take my hat off to you all. I am absolutly shattered, worn out, fed up, and numb from the relentless demands. How you all cope is beyond me. Take a huge pat on the back for the amazing work you all do.

hmb - as an ex-single mum, I thank you. I've been married to my dh for 2 years now, but was a single mum for about 3 years before that - it was really tough. And I'm so pleased to have a supportive and loving dh. So I'll second hmb's pat on the back.

I also think you are superwomen! DH is away alot (last year 40 weeks out of 52) and I find it really, really hard coping on my own.
So big cyber medals, awards and bouquets to all of you.
PS: hmb sorry to hear you are currently on your own - for how much longer.
