Do your kids look alike?

Mine are like 2 peas in a pod. Despite being a girl and boy, people can't tell them apart in photos taken when they were under a year! Ds is very pretty

People remark that my 2 are though i can't see it really. they have the same colouring but different shaped faces iykwim

I only have the one so can't comment on my own children. However me, my brother and my sister all look very different, and not really like my parents either!

As for whether mine all look alike.....yes n no. You can tell they are related, but I have two girls with dark blond hair, one with really dark hair and with my boys...both are blond but one has dead straight hair and one loads of curls, and they have different eye colours too!!!

Really shocking in a way...I know that siblings don't look alike, yet part of me seems to think that they should be clones too...does that sound strange, or do others think that too???

Very, very obvious that all 3 boys are siblings but ds1 and ds3 are frighteningly similar.

My four all look similar to outsiders, or so they say. They are all very dark (hair and eyes) and I think people only see that. Ds1 is a dead ringer for Harry Potter as well, and it is funny to have so many people comment on it.

I can't see it but people tell me they do all the time (two boys). Having said that, when I look at photo's I sometimes do a double take before I can think if it's ds1 or ds2.

People say that my ds's are very alike but I don't really see it.
There are simularities but they have different face shapes & I think ds1 is more like me, where as ds2 looks just like his Dad!
They also have VERY different temprements!

Well they are and they aren't. Both have different shape faces, colour eyes and skin tone. They both have different skin tone too but there is obviously a resemblance and both of them look like me and dh equally.

Their facial features are quite similar but that's about it. Ds1 looks a lot like dh. Ds2 looks more like me, poor boy.

My youngest looks like a 'mini-me' of his daddy....no mistaking his parentage..lol!!

None of the others are quite so obvious, altho our youngest girlie looks lots like me, but then that is probably only because she is the only one with my hair colour!!

I thought my dd looked the spitting image of my ds when she was born but has changed alot although lots of people still say she looks like him. (Ds is 5 and dd 19mths)

This is a bit of a weird one in our house.

DS1 & DS2 are both children from DH's 1st marriage. DD is the product of DH and I. So DS1 & 2 are 'full' siblings and the DSs & DD are biologically half siblings, yet DS2 and DD are very, very similar looking and DS1 is very different to his brother and sister.

If I were to show you all 3 children and tell you that 2 of the children shared a set of parents and one of them only had a father in common, there is no way that you would pick DD as the 'odd one out'

The only way you can tell the difference between baby pics of DS2 & DD is by the baby equipment & clothes they're wearing (there are 8 years between them).

So I guess you could say that DS2 & DD are all their Dad, but the funny thing is that people tell me that DD is the spitting image of me.

My best friend all through school had lost her Mum when she was 2, and her father married again. People constantly said things to her and her step-Mum like "ooh, you're the image of your Mum," "isn't she like you?" I do think people sometimes see what they want/expect to see (or think they are expected to say!)

DD1 has blonde hair blue eyes (my wee pink lady) Soooo girly

And DD2 has wild curly locks and green peepers like me ( bit of a cheekymonkey too)

dd2 and dd3 are very alike - dark brown hair and eyes. dd1 resembles them slightly although has green hair and mid-brown hair. dd4 must be the milkmans - blonde hair and blue eyes.

People have always said they'd never have known ds1 & 2 are related if they didn't know us. The only thing they have in common is eye colour. Dd1 is shaping up to be more like ds1, though she has similar hair colour to ds2. Dd2 is like dd1 at the same age but tending towards ds2.

When dd1 was small she looked very like my niece but now she is in her teens she is very like dh's niece. I was the spit of my mum as a child but am now very like my dad. Weird, huh?

Mine two dds look very alike which is surprising as they have different dads! Plus they are blonde and I am dark.

Marthamoo - you may be right about people seeing what they expect to see. But my friend and her husband adopted a little boy and he is uncannily like them. Even though I know he's not biologically theirs, he really looks like a mixture of the 2 of them.

Ditto socci, although both my dds are blonde. When they were younger they had the same hairstyle and people couldn't tell them apart, but that was pure laziness IMHO! They don't look a bit like each other! Dd1 looks like her dad, dd2 looks more like me.

GDK, My Ds1 and Ds3 are like clones of each other too, it even shocks me at times how alike they are.

People always comment how alike ds1 & dd are... weirdly they don't say it about ds2, but I think he's spitting image of ds1's baby photos, different eye colours though, all 3.
