So if self-employed tradesmen are finding things tough financially, why do none of them want my money?

I'm annoyed because I came home from work early because I was expecting an upholsterer to come and give me a cost to re-cover an old chair. I had it done years ago, and it was about £400 then - so not an inconsequential amount of money. Anyway, he's not appeared. And last week I had a glazier out to give me costs for two replacement windows. He said he'd call me with a price the next day, but he didn't.

Rant over. As you were.

Same with me, couldn't get a joiner or plumber that would return my calls.

Yes, you've reminded me that I couldn't get a plumber a couple of weeks ago either.
