Why don't you just change your name again?

Sorry about that and sorry that you are leaving. Could you not reregister afresh after a few weeks? After you've lost your stalker?

How do you know they are stalking you - did they mention it in rl ?
(which strikes me as an odd thing to fess up to!)

It happens, yorkshirepudding. Don't stop posting, just take a short break, change your name and perhaps be a little bit more circumspect when you come back.

Does this person have a mn user name? Can you search their posts in return?

oh no yorkshire! how did you find out they did a search on you? I'm worried now too (have recently namechanged due to this)

yorkshire, don't go! Change your name and then for anything really personal, change temporarily to a different name and change back for less personal things. That way, they shouldn't figure out who you are.

why would someone search for threads? Seriously weird...

is it not just human nature though? I think if I knew one of my friends was on MN I would want to search for their posts

surely you all would if you were being honest?

that is why I don't put personal stuff on here

and if I did I would name change

There is always the risk of being discovered

If you want to vent really personal and potentially revealing stuff, a temporary namechange is probably the best option

Sorry you feel you have to leave though
