Want to find out roughly how much family membership would cost at Esport but not have to listen to the spiel or visit. Can anyone help?

fivecandles - I would highly recommend that you google Esporta before you sign anything with them - watchdog have had loads of complaints about them.

I once joined Esporta and wasn't happy at all. It was the one near Sidcup.

I was a member at esporta and loved it - I just couldn't afford to keep it up
I was paying about £70 for my own adult full tennis membership and I think family would be about double that. Although children under 5 go on your membership.
Also each club varies the membership cost I was a member in Scotland and that was cheaper than the one in Poole and the one in Hampshire was different to both of those. They also have joining fees but if you go and have a look and fill in some details they start sending offers to entice you to join and I managed to get no joining fee and a month free.

I think it was about £70 a month, just for me, but that was a coupl eof years ago.
50% of the time they didn't have towels there so you were turned away. I found the changing rooms and poolside to be dirty a lot of the time. There was a bit of chewing gum stuck next to the jacuzzi for the who two months that I went there, despite me pointing it out to staff.
There were rarely staff in the gym. The gym staff seemed more interested in being downstairs chatting to the reception staff.
Most of the radios on the gym eqipment were broken and never seemed to be fixed.
When I wrote to complain, my letters went unanswered. When I telephoned them, my calls weren't returned.
In the end I stopped going. I then got HOURLY phone calls from a debt collection agency asking for the remainder of my yearly membership fees. The stress of that was immense as I was pregnant at the time. Not a nice experience.

Esporta was crap when I went there - David Lloyd is good and I would say Bannatynes is ok - we go to an Club Group Gym and it is great - is Benton Hall in North Essex - I would say smaller chains are better and cheaper and if you throw a paddy about something they listen whereas Esporta didn't give a crap about anything when I went there.

Oh Holmes Place was nice too as was Cannons.

'Throw a paddy'. Would you mind not using that phrase.

Have to agree that the customer service at esporta is utterly utterly shite. I'm a memeber of one in leeds and the only thing that keeps me going is the brilliant staff at the creche. They really don't give a damn about members.

THe other thing about esporta is that I don't think they are doing to well as I know they have just made 5 or six people redundant from the one here
