How rude is it of clients not to turn up at the right time and not to phone?

I am well peed off at the mo - DH has taken DS out so that I could treat this new client; she was due here at 10:30 this morning and still hasn't shown up - I have tried to phone her twice but get the answerphone. I wouldn't mind so much but she texted me last night to be reminded of the appt time and address! I did reply, so where the hell is she and why hasn't she shown up or phoned? GRRRRRR!!! angry

It is very rude I agree. Could you not take a credit card payment in advance with a 24 hour cancellation period. Sorry don't know what you do.

I am a massage therapist and sadly don't have credit card facilities. If she shows at 11:30 I will be even more cross because DS will be home in the next 30-40 mins and demanding feeding (stil bf'ing)

still hasn't shown up - VERY rude. I won't be making a repeat appt with her! She was a new client as well, on a recommendation from a therapist friend of mine. Pah!

You see I would think that she has been involved in a horrendous accident or that she has been held up in traffic and her phone has run out of credit. But then I like to think well of people grin

ah, hamster, after 7 years of practice I have grown out of thinking the best of people! Of course, if I now find out that she has had a hideous accident I will be suitably shamed. blush But somehow I doubt it.

I give my 'clients' half an hour then if they still havn't turned up I go out.

You could make it so that payment is at time of booking (send it in the post if necessary) and then have a "no notice within 24hours will result in loss of payment to the client" notice on your door/paperwork.

That's how my mum's boss works it - it works well. She's a bit more relaxed with her regulars but new appts are strictly observed.

haven't heard a dickybird - maybe the poor thing lost her phone immediately after texting me to get details of her appt? hmm

I will be speaking to my therapist friend this week - might ask her if she has heard anything. will let you know!
