We have just decorated our hallway. The paint was called raspberry. Our walls were magnolia so I was a bit shocked, to say the least, when we started painting with the new colour. It was a BIG change. Have really grown to like it now. The carpet is a red wine colour. We also have a red wine colour border with gold patterns on. Looks really nice.

Are you keeping the green carpet?

neutral to cream to mushroom I think

Have you seen the decorator programme on dulux.co.uk ..its great .. you can play around with lots of different colour schemes

Sparkler, your hall sounds like a variation of mine. Wine coloured carpet, gold wallpaper half way, dado rail and cream above, looks really rich and warm and posh !

My lounge has a green carpet and we have cream, gold and lemony bits in there and that looks nice

no no no

im so fed up of neutral/cream

although nice!

green carpet is staying, its not that old, and the whole house has the same carpet (which i like) so if i changed it i would change the whole house

or how about an olive green - if your carpet is the right hue to compliment? Olive is a hard colour to get right (not to go too minty or vivid) - but is gorgeous and calming...

I just did ours a blue/green colour (Dulux eden) & I hate it! It's dark & reflects a blueish sheen on everything. Don't recommend it!

We have done our hallway burnt red on the bottom and ivory above dado rail. Have natural wood in hall and grass type carpet up stairs.

Ha! - am decorating lounge - got the paint pot to test the colour - liked it so bought a big tin, put it on the walls and thought 'eh? this looks a bit dark!' tester pot name is the same as the big pot but it sure as hell ain't the same colour - I'm fuming!

bh - i like the idea of burnt red but the hall doesnt have any windows so im worried it may be too dark

joolstoo - did you check the batch no? i would be livid too

think ill go and have a look at the gold soapbox mentioned, or maybe lemon

now i just have to get the motivation to do it!
