Hausfrau - will see DH of friend in Stuttgart later tonight so will ask him to see if he can help. Also DH is an IT guy so will ask his advice when he gets in. Don't worry - I'm sure we can get this fixed by Friday!!

nb - have just tried to pull mine off and it's really hard - how on earth did DS do it????

RudyDudy Tue 11-Jan-05 14:25:56

okay, here goes...the frame and the metal bit should clip together under the flat bit with "shift" on. The gap in the keyboard should actually depress - ie you should be to push it down. So, the advice is...all 3 bits should be together as a single item, then try 2 things:

1. pushing it straight down onto the key space so that you hold it in your hand horizontally - ie as it would be on the keyboard. don't be afraid to push quite hard but obviously don't smash it on

if that doesn't work

2. try looking at how you connect the metal part and the key space - so perhaps sliding it in at a 45 degree angle and then clicking it down. Apparently it might be quite a delicate catch mechanism. Again, it might need to be pushed reasonably hard.

Hope that makes sense - DH has drawn me diagrams and everything!!

Let me know how you get on. Good Luck!

he did say an alternative might be superglue but then again he did also think it was very funny (sorry )
