Calling anyone in Switzerland ... breadmaker question

I wondered if there is anyone from Switzerland that can help me with this.

We would like to buy a breadmaker as a wedding present, however have no idea where to start looking. We want to get them one which has a nut dispenser.

Any ideas on websites, department stores that we can call, would be very much appreciated

I would highly reccomend a panisonic sd253 - we got one for christmas (Argos £100 Amazon for £79) Would Amazon deliver to Switzerland? Do your friends read English? Save up and go to the wedding and take a panisonic sd253 with you

Im very evangelical about our wonderful breadmaker with nut dispenser - i dont think any other machine could come close!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Online shopping is still in its infancy in Switzerland (give us 5 years to catch up !!). Lost my broadband atm so on modem which is deadly slow so can't do a search for you. You could try www.manor.ch (department store which delivers some items), Amazon do deliver over here but mark as a Gift or could be subject to serious VAT and Duty surcharges, or use Google.ch for a local search.

hth and if you are not in a hurry I'll try to scout around and post any possibles in the next week or so.

Thanks for your help LIZS.

We're quite overdue on the wedding present - it was in September 04!!!

Anyhow, have you heard of a shop called Madia Markt ?? I called the importers of Panasonic in Switzerland and they said this place would sell the Panasonic breadmaker ...

unfortunately Amazon.ch doesn't do that brand and Amazon UK will not delivery to switzerland ... Panasonic themselves will not have any in stock until mid-Jan!!!

Media Markt is a big electrical retailer but as far as I can see you can't order online. Surprised Amazon.uk won't deliver here (perhaps it is the bulk because we've had books etc no problem ) and Amazon.de have some here but not Panasonic . Or a few here . Did they have a wedding list at any department store such as Jelmoli or Globus which may stock them or perhaps you could order over the phone for them to collect ?

hth

Not in Switz, but our Morphy Richards (Which Best Buy!) breadmaker is great. It doesn't have a nut dispenser, but it does beep when you need to add the nuts/fruit/seeds etc. Also about half the price of the Panasonic. Try Amazon.de or Amazon.fr - sometimes the DE one offers free post to neighbouring German speaking countries (but not Belgium, despite German being one of the national languages ).
