i am at uni in cardiff and i've had a list of peoples names on my course and i haven't a clue how to say half of them. please help!

We have a bronwyn at work.

osian = OSHann (to rhyme w/posh)
guto = the tricky bit is the 'o' at the end is very short, like in stop, same for any names ending in o
hywel = HUwel (as in start of hump)
meirion = MAYrion

caveat - am not native speaker and i learned my welsh up north so may have differences of opinion w/s walians

are you doing engineering or something nappyaddict, those are all (?) boys names.

no lol. i can just work out most of the welsh girl names. they seem to be easier for some reason.

can't believe how many really welsh names on your course. Have grown up and lived in wales most of my life and have never heard so many welsh names in one place lol.

oh no there are over 300 people on my course so in comparison not that many welsh names lol.
