Failed driving test 4 times

I've failed my driving practical test 4 times now.
1st - driving to fast (nerves)
2nd - judgement at a meeting situation
3rd - touching the curb turning a corner
4th - stopping too late on slip road.

I have lost my confidence, and broke down after my last test, I'm so fed up. My instructor says I'm a really good driver usually safe and make good decisions but it's like when I get into a test I brick it and panic over any tiny hazard.

Any one else had this experience? Any suggestions?

I passed 5th Go

1, age 17, messed up reversing round the corner.
2, age 19, can't remember
3, 4 weeks later, went wrong way, got stuck in roadworks, 45 mins back to test centre.
4, 4 weeks later, failed numberplate eyesight test
5, new glasses helped me see, L and R on my hands and a cold to slow me down a bit and I passed!!!

Don't give up hope!!

Failed my 4th yesterday. Stupid meeting situation, I failed on that one thing! Yes I feel like an idiot, I mean my instructor tells me I'm a 'damn' good driver & I should've passed so why on Earth I do a stupid thing like I did, well it's just done & I can't undo it!

It's so frustrating isn't it OP? I know exactly how you feel, but we just can't stop can we? And I know exactly what it feels like to have to re-book the test, thinking am I good enough, how many more times do I have to put myself through this? In all honesty we're just going to have to keep trying - we'll get there, we have to, otherwise what's the point? Why did we start in the first place?

I'm 44, not as quick-smart as I would've been at 17, my mind is juggling loads of things, I'm a dozy clutz at the best of times at remembering stuff, but I'm still trying! We know we can do it, can we drive? Yes we can. Don't give up now!

I passed 6th time (3 tests at 17/18, then 3 at 43/44!).

Passing my Test is the best thing I've ever done. It's so worth it. I genuinely believed i would never pass.

What made the difference for me was having my own car to practice in. As a teen my dad only had a company car, so I could only ever practice in lessons. My own car made driving 'normal'. I am not a perfect driver. When i passed i realised you don't need to be, you just have to be good enough. I made quite a few minor errors on the test i passed (more than on those i failed!) just no majors.

Genuinely don't give up. Once you pass that's it, done! When you're driving no one knows If you passed at the first, fifth or fifteenth attempt 😊

Ahh sounds like I'm not the only one. It feels like with every test I'm just getting more nervous and going backwards rather than forwards.

Perhaps the test to pass is the one when you truly give up hope. Those examiners smell fear😂

I feel you.. Iv just fails my 4th driving test and I feel horrible, it’s the most discouraging feeling ever knowing you can drive but can’t seem to pass!! I cried every time because I was so frustrated at myself but my friends and family have persuaded me to keep going so my 5th text is now booked :) you’ll get there eventually x
