I'm currently expecting my first who is due 24th January :) My OH turns 30 on the 11th Feb will it be too soon to throw him a surprise party at the end of Feb?? Obviously I'm not expecting to be partying till 3am but is it going to be too much with baby being around 4 weeks (if were on time)? Some friends have said it will be fine whereas others are making out that i won't be leaving the house for the next year Angry! Advice please.

I'd aim for a party before his birthday, rather than after, OP. Could you have something at new year for him?

Tbh the first 6-8weeks can be very rough plus your baby could be a week or two late. You don't know what type of birth you'll have either so you may need a longer recovery time. You also need to think about possible colic or cluster feeding in the first few months which can make evenings difficult. A year is ridiculous but be kind to yourself and at least have a month or two blocked off.

Hopefully you'll have an easy birth and an easy baby and take to motherhood easily! Personally, I'm due my 2nd any day now there is no way I'd plan anything big for the first couple of months. DD's 3rd birthday party is mid-Dec and that's the first big thing on my calendar!

Thank you. I hadn't looked at doing something before (completely forgot i could do it early) but had look at leaving it a couple of months. I will look into both :)
