Omg this cannot be normal?

Have just visited our local Apple shop with Mum (82), and two boys age 14 and 12. First gizmo the kids show grandma comes up with a very indecent image of a young lady fully er, um, displayed as a screensaver. Boys were a bit surprised ... Tried another gizmo... Same horror pic.
It's half term. The shop is full of queues and little kids. I grab the nearest assistant and show him the problem, only to be informed that little or nothing can be done to remove the image and worse, they can't remove the affected devices because of the security arrangements.... We left the shop, in my case a bit flustered and feeling somewhat confused, and to their credit the boys were also disturbed and unimpressed by the experience.
Is it really so easy to do something like that and really so difficult to unplug and fix? Has anyone else encountered similar?

I think it's irrelevant whether it's half term or not, dodgy screensavers aren't acceptable in a shop, unless it's Ann Summers or similar.

How is it impossible for someone to delete a picture from a gadget, especially if their job is working with said gadgets. Even I can delete a picture. I don't get it.

Errm it's really easy to reset the screensaver on Apple devices even easier to delete pictures you just go to photos and drag it in to the little bin.

Thanks for the help there. I thought that surely it must be a simple fix or the bin.....Unless the gadgets plumbed into the shop system are locked in some way to er, prevent, changes from being made directly. I was confused by the assistants 'no can do' attitude. Unfortunately I don't know enough myself about this stuff to be able to challenge an Apple staff member on the spot. He did thank me for bringing the problem to his attention but I really didn't get the impression that anything would happen as a result. Hopefully I'm wrong there.
