How many of you think that Jeremy Kyle is rude, condescending & a bully? The reason I ask is thus: Having watched the J.K show for a while now, there is one subject on which I object to his behaviour & it is this: after he has spent an entire section haranguing the person in question that a guest has been found innocent of either theft or cheating, or if a guest is proven not to be the father of a child, that Jeremy Kyle does not apologise.

Do you agree with me?

Urgh I can't stand the awful man.

Shouting in peoples faces whilst backed up by a baying audience.

I've not watched it much, mainly just clips that people have linked to, but this is my impression... He's awful. I object to all of his behaviour. Especially goading people and then telling them to calm down, how they're so aggressive etc. He seems to side with one person no matter what awful things they've done but harangue the other one for much less, then rile them up, yelling in their face, interrupting them, shouting them down. Then when they understandably get argumentative he starts the whole "I can see why your partner has left you given your temper" thing. He's an absolute cunt. He's so inconsistent as well, with what behaviour he thinks is unacceptable, depending whether it's the person he has chosen to side with or not. Perhaps he just flips a coin beforehand to decide who he is going to support. Oh and those lie detector tests. I can't believe he treats them as gospel. They are so unreliable!

I can't believe people enjoy watching it, much worse being in the audience. It's like bear baiting or something, and massively taking advantage of vulnerable members of society.

Oops that turned into a rant, sorry Blush clearly I hate Jeremy Kyle.

But why would he apologise. It wasn't him that didn't know the parent of his child.

But he had presumably been rather unpleasant to the person who turned out to be completely innocent, so ought to apologise.

It's great when there is a victim guest on that is more eloquent or intelligent than him.

He ends up all out of puff, and blustering, whilst said guest smiles benignly on. Sadly I don't think that happens often, although I haven't watched it for years.

yes most certainly Kyle is a bully. I am amazed he is not prosecuted for verbal abuse. He obviously understands nothing about people, especially people with addiction problems. To confront somebody with a stream of accusations is only telling the person the same things that person has been torturing him/herself for years with. Everyone ganging up around one person using Kyle as a vindictive mouthpiece to project all their hatred through is such a backward step in terms of modern thinking as to make him look like an example of all the approaches NOT to use.
He struts around like he is doing some good with intelligence but just the opposite is true. I am amazed he is allowed to do this and his programme should be stopped immediately with letters of apology written to all his victims.

I do think it's all done for entertainment purposes now rather than to help people which is more how it started . He winds people up and it's almost like you're waiting for him to take a bow after every goady little remark he makes. He's become big headed and considering his own .mistakes in his own life and with his own kids I don't think he's got much room to talk to his guests the way he does . Hes become a vile man the last couple of years and i try not to watch coz he winds me up with his "i would walk 150 miles to see my kids " attitude ... he talks to his guests like they are 3 years of age , no wonder they want to knock him out lol !

its a great sadness that people find this to be entertainment and if you think about it is a modern version of the Roman amphitheatre.

It is a hideous and exploitative show and he's disgusting for parading vulnerable and damaged people on there in the name of "entertainment".

I know this is a zombie thread but I cant stand the man. Did used to watch it whilst eating my breakfast after the school run.

However he is so nasty to the obvious poor/druggy or woman who isnt sure of the dad. One morning there was a young woman on it who was accused of cheating and didnt know the dad and she was quite pretty, slim and well spoken and although she failed all and didnt know the dad he was all "there, there we all make mistakes". But normally hes shouting chucking the paper on the floor etc.

My friend won tickets recently and she said he was calling the guests crackheads to the audience.

apoolofprettypetals says that people should chose not to go on the show if they don't like it. Well, although I agree with you in principal, on the deeper psychological level, we humans have far far less choice than we think we do. The apparent society we live in is just a thin veneer, a sham, and the underlying and unseen reality beneath it being much more sinister than most people could even dream of. We are controlled, including our thoughts and opinions. What we eat is controlled, who we vote for, what music we like, everything is manipulated. This is nothing new, the Buddha talks about this 2500 years ago. He said we need to awake from the sleep. Few people there are in this world today who are truly awake.

I agree that we are influenced! 100%, controlled however, not in all circumstances! These people choose to go on this show, whether they are tempted by the money or something else I don't know, but it is there own choice.
I do just want to point out though that I don't enjoy the misery of others! I just like the man himself Smile

His attitude and the way he deals with people who have addictions/mental illnesses is disgusting. The way he speaks to people with transgender issues or people who are 'different' makes me cringe. He is rude and disrespectful unless it's a disabled 7 year old on his stage. He is there only to gain money and status by belittling anyone who dares ask for his help, he is a horrid excuse for a man.

Dreadful man. He's hardly in a position to pass judgement on anyone else considering his sleazy past.

I think this show should be banned. It's gutter trash - a disgrace. Makes me wince if I accidentally clicked on it. It's like Jerry Springer but worse. Just - why. Traaaailer trash. Cannot believe it's shown on a mainstream tv channel. It makes me depressed that this show has a fanbase. YUCK.

Woah I'm sorry think what you like about his behaviour on the show, but the judgement that is laden in that comment is totally uncalled for. Are you forgetting HIS WIFE had an affair, the affair that ended their marriage with a polo player. It was her that cheated on him, and the relationship with the former nanny, began a year after that and almost two years after she'd left their employment.

Or do only men have affairs? Or when women do is okay and totally forgivable?!?! Yet hay we can blame men for the rest of their lives. I firmly believe you don't cheat unless your relationship is fundamentally flawed but to make a comment judging a man for moving on when it was the woman who ended the marriage through her behaviour is nasty.

While he does come over as an arrogent bully and the way he treats gambling addicts is at times massively hypocritical bringing the most resent past of his private life is unfair

maddogmargetts or anyone else I also think that. Do you have any links that I can look up?

In regard to the Jeremy Vine: a horrible horrible show that makes me cringe. But I also think that JV has been created/produced/lauded/whatever. Bullies don't exist in a vacuum - other people (producers, advertisers) are also complicit in this and that makes me sick as it is an indictment of our society. I remember reading a book ("Psychopath test"?), in which a researcher of one of these shows described how they used to ask the potential participants if and what type of medication they were on, as they were looking for more mentally unstable people.
