Strange Dream - ideas anyone?

Hi guys,

last night I had a very strange dream that is lingering on my mind - more trying to interpret what it might mean.

I am in my mid 30's and dreamt that my Mum and Nan told me that I was adopted (I am not by the way). I wasn't upset at all, just annoyed that nobody had told me. They said my biological Mum and family wanted to meet me. I went with my Wife to a local place close to town and I saw a lady getting out of a car - I knew straight away that she was my my biological Mum, and I started running towards her, and she started to run towards me. It was a lovely feeling. We went for a meal with her husband and I had 2 half brothers and a half sister all there. It was a bit of a strained atmosphere but I wasn't worried as it was strange for everyone. I went and spoke to my Nan about why nobody had told me, and as she went to speak to me the phone rang. It was the police, who told her "everything went to plan". My biological Mum and family arrived and wouldn't say much to me, but it was explained to me that in fact I wasn't adopted at all, it had all been a set up to catch someone that the police wanted to arrest (not me), my said biological family were actually nothing to do with me, didn't know me or anything and had never seen me before today - I was purely part of an elaborate set-up to catch someone else. Needless to say I was very upset and confused.

I try not to dwell on strange things but this is the weirdest dream I have had in a very long time.

Does anyone on here know how to interpret (even a little) at all please?

On a basic level it sounds like it's about belonging and feeling that you know your place in the world.

Has anything major happened or changed recently to make you question that (threat of redundancy, house move etc) which may not have anything to do with your family, but is more about feeling that you belong.

Or have you seen anything on tv that might allude to your dream? My DP has some terrible nightmares, mainly due to all the films and tv he watches!
