I am not a fan of dogs, but have foolishly promised ds1 a puppy for his sixth birthday - 50 weeks away. What an idiot. I don't want ot have a bloody dog to pick up after for 12 years or however long it is they live. And I don't want to have one licking it's arse in my front room of an evening. But I do have a sentimental fuzzy vision of a boy and his dog galavanting. Maybe I'll go to the dogs' home and ask for one that has only a couple of years to live and isn't limber enough to lick it's own bollocks.

why cant people that like/love animals be the ones to get these lovely creatures and give them a nice life instead of people that "hate" them or dont really want them.

let the animals go to somewhere where they will be loved and are wanted not where they are gonna get in the way and be moaned about

it's just a shame we can't make sure that dog owners are responsible and caring people before they are allowed to own a dog

It makes me really mad when I see these "am getting cute ickle wickle puppy dog will it get on with my 1 month old triplets" threads, then 3 months later when the poor sod has weed on the floor and woken the househould up a few nights in a row and yelped when they go out so the neighbours complain and savaged the Eames lounger.... (YES puppies need training and lots of attention, just like babies) ....they get re-homed! So confusion and sadness for the puppy.

i get v upset when i hear how people are nasty to animals. i lost my retreiver in feb. i was heartbroken... i still am.

i would give anything to have him back but know thats impossible. i know he had the best life possible and that he was loved. we were all with him at the end and all kissed him and told him we loved him.

i dont know if i will get another animal, i couldnt go through the hearbreak again.

so please people before you get animals make sure you want them and will love and look after them. regardless of a bit of wee on the floor. so what?? it can be cleaned, its not the end of the world.

Whooo! did i ever open a can of worms!!!dont take me so seriously!!!!!!!!my dogs are a deliberate,relentless pain in the arse,but whilst i could cheerfully kick them to battersea at times,i LOVE them as well !!!!They have behaved like sodding delinquents ever since i had two more babies(HI RHUBY BTW).Calm down girls!!!

I lost an ancient dog 4 years ago and was utterly heartbroken,i still tend his grave near my back door and painted a large water colour in my dining room of him,AND tell the little kids about him and they help choose new stones for his grave when we go to the beach!
I was only having a moan!
