smear tests...

I know this sounds rather vile but does anyone know if it would be ok to go for a smear abouit 6 days after a period. For various reasons i need to book one asap otherwise I would normaly wait till everything was completely "clear" before going but as its important i go so soon i dont know how to say this but you know at the very end of your period its not completely clear?? I hate the thought of it and would prefer to wait but i do need to go. Any advice? Thanks in advance

I was told when I had to book mine that it needed to be a week after your period.
