Dropped off my 17months toddler at nursery today and to my surprise one of the careers approached with an incident form for last Tuesday. My LO only goes to nursery half day Tuesdays and full day on Fridays so I was really surprised that they haven’t informed me of the incident on the day. Apparently LO had lost balance fell and bumped her head (as they do very often I know) and they commented that there was no visible injury. She’s fine but how a about if we took her home and then she started being unwell. We would’ve then taken her to A&E and then maybe turn out she had a concussion. Hours would e we then explain how did that happen? Obviously they would very rightly so involve social services to investigate. We haven’t signed the form and said we want to speak with manager when she’s next in. What are the legal proceedings for this? How can we make sure it doesn’t happen again? It really worrying

Chipmunks is meant to be good.
You could try asking for opinions on the local community FB groups but I find them to be biased. Perhaps just visit as many as you can?

@ChibiTotoro Thank you, once we know the sale of our place is going through, we'll have to make a trip over there to check some out. We aren't local so it's a big move. He's currently in a great nursery so hoping for the same!

@ACmamabear What nursery is that? That is worrying! We're lucky with ours that we get told straight away, and told straight away if he was the one that caused an accident to another child. Not sure what the procedure is on this but I'd want to have a word with the manager and just hope for a change or move him out of there entirely!

I would ask for recommendations on local groups. We live near to but not in Weymouth. We looked at Sunny Days and were very unimpressed. They spent 10 minutes of our visit explaining in detail the penalties for late payments and about 5 minutes actually showing us around. Then the baby room staff person pulled us aside to give us tips on how to 'break our baby's attachment to us' (the words she used) so it would be easier for them to settle her in. I cried before I even got back to the car, it was so depressing.

I have had a friend who used Chipmunks (in Dorchester), and didn't have any complaints as far as I know. Depending on where you'll be going to work, you may find there are other options that are not in Weymouth, but on your route.

We love our nursery, but it's probably 30-40 minutes from Weymouth and not convenient unless you are coming up the A37.
