My son started nursery this term he is 3 years old. He suffers badly from eczema and is under constant doctor treatment for this ie steroid creams and antibiotics etc etc. Also my son suffers constantly with colds and virus which again the doctors deal with. Due to this he has had a LOT of time of from nursery which, I always provide a truthful medical reason and sometimes even the prescription or doctors appointment cards. Last week doctor decided to review son fortnightly as dr was concerned as to why son caught so many virus and to see if he needed to be referred to specialist etc etc. Well yesterday I contacted the nursery and explained I wanted to cut down sons full time nursery space to two days a week as he is constantly exhausted and right now muni concern and drs corcern is his health. The safeguarding key worker (head of sons nursery) has asked for my sons drs name and surgery which I found strange, and also m health visitors contact details so she can contact them. Has anyone had anything similar? Or know for any reason why she may want this? I’m very confused and honestly quite unsure as to why they would want to contact ds hv

They can share any observations they have made about your sons health and it could help the doctor with a diagnosis. It's a good thing to get all the professionals involved in your child's care to work together. This will absolutely be in the best interests of your child.
