aw - don't be he is probably having a fab time. It is usually the mummies that feel worse ... my DS went to nursery at 6 months old and he is 1 now ... he has thrived since he has been there - wait till you get the first picture Baby BFG has painted and he comes home covered in paint and glitter ... you will be a very proud mummy

Hey Nikki,
I know how you feel. I've left DS for his first full day at nursery today. He was 1 last weekend. He's been for a couple of trial sessions and hated it and when I left hime today he was screaming. All I wanted to do was rush back and take him home. However. I'm going back to work next week and he has to go to nursery. It was soooo hard leaving him though.

DD (4) goes to the same nursery and she loves it. I know once he settles in he will enjoy it too.

Meanwhile, I'm going to take my mind off it by doing some childfree shopping to buy some new clothes to wear to work.

Another one here BFG and Supersaint. Ds turns 1 on Friday, and I go back to work next week. He's at his first full day of nursery today. His trial sessions last week went ok but he absolutely howled this morning when he realised I was dropping him off there again . I spoke to them after an hour and they said he was fine but still can't help feeling guilty. I miss him like mad. Passing the time on MN helps slightly

Weasel Mum - I was going to ring up but am scared they'll tell me he is still screaming!!

BFG - All of the children I know love nursery once they get used to it (which really doesn't take long). It is just really hard to leave them at first but it does get better I promise (this is what I am telling myself anyway!!)

Aww..thank you all Been sniffing his babygro and staring at his cot....

Having doubts about going back to work at all!! Would rather have him do two half days a week at nursery for his social development etc rather than two full days....seems too much! I know its early days and shouldn't make rash decisions but work are b'stards anyway....mmmm

Well he came back ok and had a very good time apparently....he was vvv tired and took an age to get him to settle for a nap but he's asleep now....v glad first session over.....

AIBU to be annoyed they gave him chocolate whip for pud though? I don't give him puds....bad for teeth etc...

glad he was ok

Not sure about the chocolate whip thing - like you, I don't give ds that sort of pudding at home because of the sugar, but he does get them at nursery. I think it's ok for him just three times a week so I've decided just to leave it. You could ask them just to give fruit and yoghurt if you're not happy though, I guess?

I them today that I don't want him having them. Have asked for fruit or yoghurt instead. Asked which yoghurts and they said a mixture, sometimes Petit Filous so I said I would bring Greek Yoghurt in as much better for him....

I wouldn't mind the odd pud if he was letting me brush his teeth properly but its a real struggle (hes just over 1) so I prefer to keep the sugar out of diet if I can....I'm really fussy with what I feed him actually...I ask for a breakdown of what he's eaten and I get an overview and I have to resist urge to say well is the sauce made from scratch, what cheese etc.....
