DD refusing to sleep at nursery

Hi All
DD is 16 months and has been happily attending nursery since she was 6 months with no issues. The past few weeks she has apparently stopped sleeping properly at nursery.

She goes 3 days a week. The other 4 days, she does one big nap for 2-3 hours and occasionally 30 mins or so in the late afternoon if she e.g. drops off in the car. She always goes down for her nap quite happily and at 10.30 is often dropping asleep in my arms after a bottle of milk. She sleeps through, 10-11 hours at night.

She is apparently throwing almighty tantrums at nursery about having her nap, screaming, throwing toys, throwing herself on the floor, banging her head against the cot. Although she has tantrums at home, I have never seen anything like what they are describing and especially not over her nap. The maximum they have got her to sleep in the past few weeks is one hour. She is then very tired in the afternoon to the point of falling over so they try to put her down again and she flat refuses and throws a tantrum again (I'm not surprised about this bit, it isn't part of her usual routine to be put in her cot again in he afternoon).

They have said other children wake her up which is why her naps are so short and complained that her tantrums are waking other children up too. I don't know what to do about it. At the moment, she is a nightmare when I get her home from nursery. Today, she cried more or less solidly from when she was picked up at 5pm until I put her to bed at 6.30, couldn't eat her tea. Apparently when my husband picked her up he was told "she only slept for half an hour today, good luck."

I'm not very happy about this but don't know what to do, or whether there is anything that they could be doing to help her. We can't go on like this but the nursery are basically shrugging their shoulders at this point and saying its a phase but it is limited to nursery! Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Wish I could help but my DD is doing the same. Has never been great at napping for nursery but would usually sleep an hour or so. Once 3 hours.
For the last 3 weeks she had slept 30 mins max. Some days, today included she has slept nothing at all.
She is exhausted but won't sleep. They try about 4 times a day. Screams and won't sleep.
She has been at nursery since July. Only 2 days.
She is 14 months and learning to walk so should be exhausted.
Sleeps for 2 hours plus with me.
This has coincided with me going back to work but how would she know that?

Have there been any changes with you that your DD could have picked up on?

When do the other nursery children nap? Ime, at her sort of age after lunch might be more usual- can you ask them, as she might settle better if she isn't missing out on fun. If so, perhaps you could shift the naps on the non nursery days to match?

Do they try to get her to nap in a buggy?
