Baby monitor

Recommendations for a baby monitor please! I'd like a video one that links to a phone also (so can check up on lo if with babysitter!) and ideally with sensor mat (although I think they are easier to buy separately?) with reasonable range and ideally wireless.

Had the new angelcare one but mat broke and monitor poor for price so returned it. Looking at motarola one but they have really mixed reviews also.

Thanks! 😊👶🏼 —

Hi daisies, I'm not going to be able to be too helpful as we're due our first child and we've just gone for the most basic audio one, but I just thought I'd pass on that I've heard so many friends and others that it's not worth wasting money on the mat sensor ones. In fact when I bought our cot I asked the couple what was the one piece of advice they wished they'd had before having their baby and it was don't buy a sensor mat! Apparently as soon as baby can start to roll (which can be as young as 4 months!) them rolling triggers the mat, so they were constantly being woken up thinking their child had stopped breathing when all that had happened was they'd moved! Not sure if that helps at all but just thought I'd pass it on 😊

Oh that is really helpful actually as I was looking for a sensor mat thinking it would be good for reassurance when lo is in his own room but as he's nearly 4 months I guess that would be a nightmare waking me up then! Thank you!
