iPod classic replacement

My husband is seriously into his music and his much loved iPod classic is starting to glitch. Ideally he would like to buy a new one but they just aren’t around anymore.
What would be the best alternative? He does use a lot of the storage on it, he plugs it in to various speakers around the house and in the car and uses it with headphones. WiFi and/or Bluetooth would be a good feature to save all the wires as we have both types of speakers.
His music is mainly physical albums that he has spent a lot of time ripping (I think) onto the iPod I’m worried about buying a new one that he would need to start the whole process again.
Hardly any is downloaded or bought from Apple.
Any suggestions? I’d like to get him a solution for Christmas so one that doesn’t cost the earth (less than £100?) but I know I’m asking for a lot so could rethink the budget if it made a big difference.

Thanks!

Just get a refurbished model. There are plenty of them around with 12 month warranties.
You dont start the whole process again just download from iTunes to the new ipod.

I was in the same boat a few months back and I bought this:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01NBSV0JJ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?psc=1&ie=UTF8&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

I really like it and there are some selling on Amazon Warehouse for £129 and they expand up to around 160gb with SDHC micro. Highly recommended as a replacement for my defunct iPod Classic.

jb was you able to upload all your sings on to your new device.
When I've got a new IPod in the past the library along with all the playlists just transfers across.

There is an application you can download from Sony called MediaGo which functions like iTunes. You have to select which albums you want to transfer across. One tiny drawback is that it does not recognize M4B files which most of my audio books were but I just downloaded them again as mp3s.
