What sort of music does your 8/9 (boy) year old listen to?

Mine keeps saying he wants an MP3 player for his birthday, and I keep asking him what music he'd listen to on it, and he keeps shrugging his shoulders and saying "I don't know"

I've got Spotify (now it's finally come to Ireland!!) so think I might introduce him to a few bands/singers but I'm not sure what is popular with that age group.

He doesn't seem to found of the music i have (Stone Roses, Primal Scream, Killers etc) though he like a few of Nirvana's tracks!!

Anyway have any suggestions for sampling?
