We are looking for Mumsnetters who have been through menopause or are currently in perimenopause to test out Vira Health’s new service. STELLA is an easy-to-use app that provides you with daily guidance, a personal menopause coach, helpful resources and progress tracking functions, all focused on alleviating specific symptoms. The app will be most beneficial for those experiencing weight gain, sleep disorders, hot flushes, night sweats, incontinence, anxiety, mood swings, and low mood.

We’re looking for Mumsnet users to test a prototype of the app, which is only currently available via the Safari browser on iOS devices. Please only sign up to take part if you have access to an iPhone.

Here’s what Vira Health has to say: “Two-thirds of women say there is not enough help or understanding when going through menopause. We hear you.

Finding information, treatment and support you can trust often feels like a full-time job and this is why we made STELLA. We save you time and energy with comprehensive relief and information for perimenopause and menopause symptoms. We’re only interested in treatment that works and is proven by scientific research and evidence.

Whether you are taking HRT or not, Stella works alongside any medical advice to help you decrease the frequency and severity of the issues you face during your menopausal journey.”

Selected testers will receive a free 6 week trial of the service, which will cost £25/month, or £150/year.

If you’re selected, you’ll need to use STELLA over the course of 6 weeks.

Following testing the service, selected testers will need to give their feedback via a thread on Mumsnet and a short survey. All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

If you’re interested in taking part, please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck!

Anybody thought of hiring a maternity nurse? I'm trying to set up my business and would love to hear from you about what you think they do and would you ever consider booking one. X

@Lunadog13 You need to start your own thread about this; you are unlikely to get many responses about maternity nurses on a thread about the menopause. Try starting a thread in the pregnancy topic Smile.

£150 a year? For an App?

The NHS is free and so is the Menopause matters website. I suspect this app is front for data gathering.

What does STELLA stand for? Or is it just supposed to be a generic menopausal woman’s name?
My advice: HRT. Don’t put up with misery. Take the NICE guidelines to the GP.

I was all for it until I saw the long term cost.
I think not.

Congratulations, you monetized the menopause

Grin The only Stella I have ever known was my late grandmother's neighbour and she must have been in her 70s back in the 1980s. Odd choice of name if people hitting menopause now are supposed to identify with it.

I was really interested in this until I saw the cost of the app..... no chance!

I also was keen to sign up until I saw the cost. Sorry but I don’t fancy putting effort into something for 6 weeks, letting someone have all my data, then having to pay for it.

I was up for this until I saw the cost for the app! Plus you only get entered into a draw for £100 when they have received personal information for free! Totally wrong!

Loving that the replies are all reinforcing that menopausal women take no shit anymore!

All that money for "advice" that can be found in a few clicks for free?

I'd be keen to find out how real the personal menopause coach actually is, but am not an i-phone user. did not get sucked into that moneymaking wheeze either

Anyone else click on this thread after skimming thread titles, thinking it was for testing NUTELLA?
Nope? Just me?
I'm 44, so guess perimenopause is close by. Just think of the amount if Nutella £150 could buy you though!

Had lots of good advice for free from Menopause Matters and great HRT treatment from GP, would never pay £150 for an ap.

I've heard good things about the Menopause Balance app by Dr Louise Newson.

Hi everyone, thanks for your comments so far. Vira Health have shared the following response to answer a number of your queries:

'Thanks so much for the interest and feedback so far! The STELLA team is excited to welcome many of you onboard. Some of you have questions around the cost of the app so we wanted to take a minute to tell you a bit more about what you get when you try STELLA.

STELLA was designed by doctors, scientists and specialists to support women as they go through menopause. We know there is a lot of great information already out there, but with STELLA it’s personalised to you. It is not a substitute for seeing your GP or going on HRT. Rather, it is a complementary app that helps you manage the symptoms of menopause - available on-demand, whenever you need it.

With STELLA, you get:

1. Your own menopause coach. Each coach is a certified health and wellness coach with extensive knowledge of menopause who will guide you through your plan. You are able to message your coach at any time for advice on symptoms, questions about menopause and many other topics (eg, how to talk to a partner or kids about menopause).

2. A personalised 6 week plan. Every woman’s menopause is different. STELLA is designed around the symptoms that are bothering YOU the most. Each week you’ll get a new lesson that is filled with information, activities and supporting resources, like exercise videos and recipes.

3. Immediate relief. For when you’re struggling in the moment - STELLA has meditations, music to help you focus, stories from other women, and other audio tracks that can help.

4. Weekly sessions. Anyone using the STELLA app can access real-time sessions such as yoga and dance classes, Q&A sessions with a pelvic floor specialist or a nutritionist, and many others. These are a chance to learn about new topics and get your specific questions answered.

Mumsnetters will never be charged for taking part in this test, and there is no need to enter credit card details to participate. If you are put off by the price, we’d encourage you to give it a try! For £25 a month (or £12.50 if you pay annually), you get a 1:1 coach, a personalised care plan and access to exercise classes and expert sessions. We hope you’ll find it is worth it.

Some of you also have questions around the use of your data. Selected testers will need to share their details with us for the purpose of the test, but they can unsubscribe at any time and we will remove their names and emails from our database. Beyond the test, we have no intention of keeping any personally identifiable information unless testers express genuine interest in hearing more about STELLA. Details of any other testers will be removed.'

Thanks!
