4yrs old boy/girl twins, Now that DD making friends at nursery DS will not play with other kids

My boy girl twins do four afternoons at nursery initially they only played with each other ,gradually DD has started playing with other children DS will just play alone but will not play with other kids also he is very quiet at nursery nothing like he is at home where is is the more louder and dominant one , they do socialise alot with other children but always together they do not do anything seperatley yet . He doesnt seem happy at nursery now that DD is finding other friends where up until recently it was the two of them together .will it be better to seperate them at school ?

Sorry cant help with the school issue but ds (not a twin) plays alone much more than his sisters ever did. Maybe he needs a bit more adult attention at nursery.
