Found out we are pregnant with twins at 6 week scan two healthy looking sacs seen too early for heartbeat to be seen or heard. Very excited but also heard about Vanishing Twin for the first time now really worried about this. Does it happen often will they be alright. Sorry bit emotional at the moment.

I did exactly the same thing! I had an early scan for bleeding at 7 weeks and then googled myself into a black hole. From what I read a lot of the time one of the babies isn't developing at the same rate as the other and they can see that pretty early.
I'm now 18 weeks and both look great and fingers crossed you're the same!
Unfortunately it's just the first trimester waiting game - everything is statistically much more likely to be fine though! x

Both baby sacs we a good size and there was 1mm difference between them which i think is a good sign.

I can't add much except to say I'm in a similar position, I'm about 10 weeks along, I had a scan at 6 weeks which showed us it was twins! My next scan is in three weeks which feels like such a long wait, and like you I've been really worried that something will go wrong. Trying to be positive, stay calm and hope for the best! Stay positive, as the previous poster said, the statistics are in your favour. I think it's a good sign that they were similar sizes x

Yes - when you read about vanishing twin syndrome affecting up to a 3rd of twin pregnancies, it makes it sound as if 1 in 3 look fine at the first scan, only to have gone wrong at the second scan. While that can happen, it's definitely not a 1 in 3 chance because those stats also include the situations where even at the first scan, it's pretty clear that one of them sadly isn't going to make it. So the odds were in your favour anyway - but even more so given that both babies are developing fine so far.
