Cars for newborn twins & 3 year old

All going well, we will have newborn twins in the spring of 2021 just as our daughter turns 3. We have a Skoda Octavia estate at the moment which we love, and ideally we would keep this for now! Does anyone have any experience with fitting to baby seats and a group 2/3 car seat in the back of a skoda Octavia? Thanks so much!

I’ll be watching this with interest. We have 4 month old twins and a 4 year old and currently fit all three car seats in the back of our VW Passat, but I think we’ll need to change soon, as it’ll be tight when the babies go into their next seat up.

We are currently looking at a Kia Sorrento. It has 7 seats and the warranty is excellent. A friend of mine who has 3 children of varying ages got a Multimac seat to fit across their Skoda, which then allows up to 4 children across the back, but they are about 2-3k to buy new.

Congratulations, btw - we love having twins!! :) x

Oops - just realised you might not be looking for a different car! We got the Joie Juva seats for the babies as it was the narrowest we could find (not isofix though) and a maxi-cosy for our 4 year old, but can’t remember the exact model.

I'm following this with interest. I'm due twins in December, and have a son who will be 22 month old also. I currently have a corsa and my partner has a Isuzu dmax which neither will be suitable for the fact they don't have three full seats in the back. The only way around this I've thought so far is having one of the twins in the front with the front airbag off and then my toddler and second twin in the back with him. Either way if we go out as a family initially my toddler will go in the front anyway so I can sit in between the twins to keep a close eye while travelling.

Following with interest... so keen to get the multimac, I feel it would solve all our problems.

Although I’m not currently prepared to wait 8weeks (thanks COVID)

I don’t think there’s much of a second hand market for them yet but does anyone know of anyone selling a 4seater multimac? 🙏🏼

We have a 4 year old DD and are shortly expecting twins. Have been looking into this with my DMum (who is a bit of a worrier). Currently, my DH has a car with only 2 seats in the back, and my DMums car (which I share with her) does have 3 seats but doesn’t hold 3 car seats unless you get one of the multi-thingies.

Smallest one (I like small cars!) that we have found can fit 3 car seats in the back is a Citroen Picasso. In all honest though, it sounds like a nightmare trying to get DD strapped into hers in the middle and then get a twin in either side - it’ll take all day!

Until twins are out of stage 0 car seats we are likely to have DD in the front and twins in the back, with my DH in the middle seat when necessary (we don’t often drive with all of us in one car).

Be warned - with any small car, it will be tricky to get a double pram and/or all the associated paraphenAlia of 3 kids into the boot. I suspect we will get a bigger car in a year or two (DH is NOT keen on this idea!)

We have a Skoda Octavia and three car seats. Three year old sits in the front while the twins are in the back an I sit in the middle while husband drives...we had a Audi Q5 before this but the boot was too small and we still had to have the same seating configuration. We also tried a Ford Galaxy but had loads of problems...our mechanic then warned us off 7 seater cars as the chassis aren’t designed for the weight.

We absolutely love our Skoda!

There is a Skoda Superb (I think it’s called) that is a wider version of the Octavia...
